The Faïencerie de Gien was created in 1821 in Gien (Val de Loire), in the heart of France with its own unique style. Faience is a fine glazed earthenware, which dates back to Egyptian times. Today the Faïencerie de Gien, which creates exquisite earthenware is part of a program of excellence. A member of the prestigious Colbert Committee, which brings together the major French luxury brands, it has been awarded the label of a Living Heritage Company.
Gien’s Pont Aux Choux collection ihs adorned with a style of relief that translates to “grains of rice”. This pattern is named for the old pottery factory that created it long ago, and offers subtly shaped silhouettes along with a provincial-inspired texture on creamy white stoneware.
